Sølvrev releases new music video for Peder Elias, filmed in sunny Italy.
There is much to love about winter in Oslo, but when warmth and nostalgia are on the menu, filming in snow-covered streets can be challenging. When Sony Music Norway reached out to director and producer duo Sigurd Fossen and Christer Dyngeland with a wish to create a new music video for artist phenomenon Peder Elias, the solution was obvious: we need to head somewhere warmer!
An emotional song
Peder Elias, who has built a major international career and recently reached number one in China with "Twinkle Twinkle", has now released "Forever Was Never Enough" – a personal and reflective song about losing someone close.
An Italian double
The trip took them to Italy, where nostalgia, "warm" sunshine (in reality barely above zero degrees), and beautiful, green surroundings were waiting. So too were two wonderful extras, including Alessio Cheli, who played a young Peder Elias.
"We wanted to create a warm, summery film universe that immediately evokes beautiful, carefree memories and nostalgia, while framing Peder Elias in beautiful surroundings where we can get to know him better as an artist. The chemistry between the two young actors was essential for the video to work, so the fact that they were cousins was a big plus," says director Sigurd Fossen.
"Directing children in Italian was challenging, but with the good help of Google Translate we had a fun exchange with the kids, and they took direction absolutely fantastically!" he concludes with a smile.
